Julie B. Hewitt is an honors graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law and the State University of New York at Geneseo (Magna Cum Laude). She has been engaged in the practice of law for over twenty-five years. She served as Town Justice for the Town of Poland for 13 years, and as Adjunct Faculty to the English Department at Jamestown Community College for 11 years.
Her past professional employment includes Chautauqua County Examiner of Guardianship Accounts for Article 81 and Article 17-A Guardianships, Chautauqua County Law Guardian Panel, Associate Attorney at Phillips, Lytle, LLP, Corporate Counsel to NYSARC, Inc., Chautauqua County Chapter d/b/a The Resource Center, and Assistant Social Services Attorney, Chautauqua County Department of Social Services.
She is past Trustee of the Chautauqua County Law Library, member of the governing council of First Congregational Church of Jamestown, New York and past president of the Jamestown Bar Association. Memberships include the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Magistrate?s Association and the Jamestown Bar Association.
Past community involvement includes service on the Law Guardian Advisory Panel, Board of Directors of Coordinated Children?s Service Initiative Tier II, Juvenile Justice Coalition, Chautauqua Area Girl Scout Council Board of Directors, Board of Directors and Past Vice President of Chautauqua County Legal Services, Inc, Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors, Camp Onyahsa Board of Directors, past chair of the Jamestown Bar Association Public Relations and Domestic Relations Committees. Current member George F. O'Pray Planned Giving Society of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and Ethics Committee of Chautauqua County Hospice.
